Hello! Welcome to my weekly newsletter!
Enjoy a dose of my playwriting process,
writing confessions, and all the mess in between.

You have absolutely no idea how many formats I’ve gone through all my life.

I’ve done:

  • Microsoft Word templates

  • Celtx

  • WriterDuet

  • Final Draft

  • Copied formats from friends and mentors

But I never really found one that truly worked.
Not for me. Not for my aspirations.

I Want to Publish — Eventually

Most playwriting formats are space-consuming.
Great for rehearsals, but terrible if you ever want to publish your script as a book.

And I do.
One day, I want to see my play beautifully laid out in an actual book.

So I began experimenting.
Tweaking. Writing. Rewriting.
Reformatting.
(Read: furiously typing on my keyboard at 2am.)

The Format I’m Sharing With You

I’ve finally landed on something that works for me.
And maybe it’ll help you too — if not in writing, then in finding your own format.

Here’s what it does:

  • Maximises space (less pages, more punch)

  • Still gives actors space to take notes and doodle (guilty!)
